I am Victor Sanchez-Anguix, and I was born in Valencia, Spain. I received a BSc. in Computer Science at Universitat Politècnica de València. Later, I obtained an MSc. in Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition by Universitat Politècnica de València. In February 2013 I defended my Ph.D. thesis in Computer Science at Universitat Politècnica de València. I was awarded a Magna Cum Laude award and an award for being one of the top 10% of theses presented during 2013 at Universitat Politècnica de València. After finishing my Ph.D. I started an industry position as a data scientist at Atrapalo.com, one of the largest travel agencies in Spain and South America. My duty was to provide personalized recommendations to customers based on context and individuals’ interests. From 2015-2018 I worked as a lecturer at Coventry University (UK). From 2020, I am a lecturer at Universitat Politècnica de València.
My main area of research lies in multi-agent systems. Particularly, I have extensively worked in the field of automated negotiation, a field where we aim for artificial intelligence to negotiate autonomously. Apart from that, I have also worked on several optimization projects applying metaheuristics and mathematical programming. I have also an interest in the application of artificial intelligence techniques to educational settings.
If you are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence or Optimization, we have a few projects available to work on. Please, do not hesitate to contact me at vicsana1@upv.es.
